2022 INFORMATION

2022 Treatment Maps

Each year, the lake is treated with DNR-approved chemicals to mitigate the spread of aquatic invasive species. In 2022, the Lake District has received
approval from the WI DNR to treat approximately 67 acres in the following areas: Wausau Bay, Tony’s Bay, Radke Bay and the south shore of the southern part of the lake.

2022 DNR Permit

This is the permit submitted by the Lake District and subsequently approved by the Wisconsin DNR. This permit approves the largest swath of acreage to be treated with chemicals since the presence of aquatic invasive species were first identified.

Chemical Fact Sheet

The main chemical used in Crescent Lake is Florpyrauxifen-benzyl, also known as ProcellaCOR within Wisconsin. ProcellaCOR treats the weeds that keep coming back using a new mechanism and a new active herbicide for fast and long-lasting spot treatment.

Aquatic Biologists Fact Sheet

Aquatic Biologists Inc. is the consulting company working on behalf of the Lake District to administer the approved chemicals and harvest invasive plants.

Letter to Owners

This letter was sent to all owners with property on or near Crescent Lake informing them of the upcoming treatments planned for the lake.

2021 INFORMATION

December 2021 AIS Update

This report was written by Jim Gehrke, a Lake District Commissioner and AIS Response Team Liaison, providing updates on the strategy taken by the Lake District and Lake ASsociation for addressing EWM growth and removal. The report was distributed in December 2021.

EWM Report

The annual EWM Report was prepared by the consulting team from White Water Associates, Inc. The report outlines the current state of invasive species present within Crescent Lake, historical treatment overview, and future management strategies.

2021 EWM Survey Map

This map displays the abundance of EWM throughout the entirety of Crescent Lake. This data was collected during Summer 2021 and the map was generated in August 2021.
